Speaking of awesome blogs. I was wondering if there was anyone who would be interested in swapping buttons and promoting each other's blogs. I'm looking for about 5-6 bloggers who would get a "sponsor" post and your button would remain on my side bar for the month of June. If you would like to swap buttons, please email at smilesnsnuggles@gmail.com

Shopping!

Sorry I haven't been around too much these past few days. I'm having so  much fun with my pregnancy this time around. It seems my immune system has decided to go on vacation and my body decided to rebel. It starts with a cough/cold I had about 3 months ago. The cough (which usually happens) is hanging around and causing more problems. This weekend, I developed a lovely ear infection, which has severely affected my hearing in my left ear, as well as caused pain, discomfort and some very interesting vertigo. Anyway! Away from my whining.

This week at Growing up Geeky's Toddle Along Tuesday - you're favourite places to shop!

My ultimate place to shop is:

Michaels

I love this store and could live in it. I just recently decided that I'm going to be taking a cake decorating course in July as a way to get out of the house and to learn something I've always wanted to learn. However, I could be found in any aisle at any time of the day.

Anyway, since it's Toddle Along Tuesday, my favourite places to shop for J's clothes:

I love these stores. I find their prices to be reasonable and the clothes to be adorable. The best thing about these clothes is definitely the durability of them. J is hard on his clothes (I'm pretty sure every outfit has been to the park already) and as he's started to eat more independently he makes a mess.

I have to give honourable mention to

Hobby Lobby Logo

I've only been there once and fell in love instantly! Unfortunately, they don't have them here in Canada so I can only go when I'm down in the US!

What about you? What are your favourite places to shop?

Some Random Thoughts!

Holy moly! We very quickly got up to 30 degrees celcius here, which in any other summer I'd gladly be welcoming, but being 5 1/2 months pregnant, teaching hormonal teenagers on a second floor classroom and chasing around a 16 month old has worn me out completely. I've had a headache for 2 days (with some relief from Tylenol but not much) and very little sleep. DH finally gave in to my whining and turned on the A/C.

I'm hoping to get some Father's Day gifts done this weekend. Here is an example of what I'm planning on making for my Dad and my FIL. I'd show what I'm making for The Husband, but he could stumble upon this and spoil the surprise.

In other news, I have about a month left of school (yay!) which means J has about a month of daycare left and then he's back to being home with me full time. I'm torn about this actually. Part of me wants him home all the time so that I can play and watch him grow, but then there is a part that wonders if he's going to be sad about leaving. It's only for a year and then he'll be going back. Then I start to wonder what the transition will be like with a 2.5 year old going back into daycare. We have to take him out though, it's just too expensive with the limited income. Any insight?

Anyway, with him being home, I've started to look for ideas to keep him busy and come July will start a new weekly post on keeping toddlers busy, happy and healthy. I'm hoping to find some ideas and share some of my ideas that will keep him learning while he's home.

Anyway, that's all the randomness I've got going on. I hope everyone else has a fantastic weekend.

:)

22 weeks!

Yay!

 22 weeks!

Not much of a change from last week to this week other than I'd say that the munchkin (who is still nameless) is much more active this week. The Husband still can't feel him on the outside, but as soon as I sit down I definitely feel him. He especially hates when I lean forward and he's all smushed up.

I also wanted to show you my lovely summery maternity t-shirt! It's already a little tight, but I got a lot of compliments on it today so I wanted to share!

Also, my new favourite snack. Strawberries and (lots of) whipped cream! Yum!
Hopefully we'll be able to take J out strawberry picking (even for a photo opportunity).

I'm hoping to have some good posts this week. I'm working on The Husband's and the Grandfather's Father's Day gifts. I'm getting a head start so hopefully I'll be able to post one or the other later this week. I'm also going to start looking into my quiet book project again as well as some busy bags for J for when Munchkin #2 arrives.

What are you up to this week!?

My Favourite First!

This week we are linking up our favourite firsts over a Growing up Geeky.

I think mine, by far, has got to be J's first steps.

He started walking at 11 months and I know it opened up a whole new world for him (and me). Yes I had to chase him around a little more and keep a better eye on things, but once he started to walk he became instantly independent. He was able to get to where he wanted to go and get what he wanted
(and he really hasn't stopped to be honest).

Head on over to Growing up Geeky for Toddle Along Tuesday to see what firsts other mommies look back on fondly!

Long Weekend Fun!

So far we've been blessed with an awesome long Victoria Day weekend!  The Husband and J have been making their daily trips to the park and we've even gone to see a house (way too old for us). Here are some pictures of J at the park and then some of J helping Daddy cut the lawn (don't worry, the lawn mower was off and we were right there supervising). I made them nice and big for easy viewing!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend too!

21 weeks!

I just realized that I never did my bump post for this week. Well, here I am at 21 weeks in all my glory! Yesterday, I went shopping for some warm weather maternity clothes, so I think that I've got all season of maternity clothes in case we decide to ever try for baby #3 (we have to survive #2 first).

I had my first OB appointment this week. Here we see the GP until 20 weeks and then we start going to see the OB. It was weird being the least pregnant person in the office again. I received all of my hospital forms and got to hear the munchkin's heartbeat again.

21 weeks with #2

21 weeks with J

Looking at the two pictures, I think I'm definitely bigger than I was with J, but not as much as I thought. I feel as though I'm 100 times bigger. Maybe it's just because I'm 100 times busier and more miserable! Either way, 19 weeks left!
